Agni Tea

Agni tea is nothing but CCF tea, a powerful blend of spices that improve the digestive fire (agni) in your gut. For extra potency, swap out the cumin with ajwain.

Consume 20 mins before food to get your digestive juices jumping.

  • Predominant Dosha - Pitta

  • Total Time - 5 mins

  • Effort - 1/5

  • Serves - 4 (fresh tea) or 20 (tea blend)

Ingredients

Fresh Tea

1/2 tablespoon cumin seed (or ajwain for individuals with vata imbalance)

1/2 tablespoon coriander seed

1/2 tablespoon fennel seed

4 cups of water

Tea Blend

2 tablespoons cumin seed (or ajwain for individuals with vata imbalance)

2 tablespoons coriander seed

2 tablespoons fennel seed

2 cup of water

Steps

There are two variations of this recipe - you can either make your tea fresh on the stove or seep the tea blend in boiling water.

Fresh Tea

  1. Add 4 cups of water to a pot and bring to boil.

  2. Add the cumin (or ajwain), coriander and fennel seeds to the pot.

  3. Allow the tea to boil for about 5-7 mins.

  4. Strain the seeds from the water and serve 20 mins before food.

Tea Blend

  1. Add all of the cumin, coriander and fennel to a blender and blend until it turns to powder.

  2. Add a tablespoon of the blend to boiling water.

  3. Allow to seep for 5 mins before drinking.

P.S. The tea blend variation cannot be strained, which isn’t a big deal as the powder usually sinks to the bottom within seconds.
