A variation of the classic English porridge that your gut will thank you for.

  • Predominant Dosha - Kapha

  • Total Time - 15 mins

  • Effort - 1/5

  • Serves - 1

Ingredients

1 cup of milk

20 g of semolina

A pinch of salt

A pinch of sugar

1 teaspoon butter

Toppings

1 teaspoon caster sugar

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon peanut butter

1 teaspoon of nutella

5g of sunflower seeds

10g of almonds, crushed

4-5 raspberries

4-5 blueberries

Steps

  1. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and heat on medium flame.

  2. Once simmering, turn the heat down to low and stir in a pinch of salt and sugar.

  3. Slowly add the semolina, bit by bit, whilst stirring continuously.

  4. Keep stirring for 5-7 mins, until the mixture thickens to a thin porridge-like consistency. The porridge will actually thicken more when it cools down.

  5. Take the semolina off the heat and stir in a small piece of butter.

  6. Pour the porridge into a bowl, and dust with sugar, cinnamon, peanut butter, nutella, sunflower seeds and crushed almonds.

  7. Fruits aren’t compatible with milk in Ayurveda, so serve with raspberries and blueberries sparingly.
